Join a UK IT MSP as a Senior Network Engineer for a large UK-based client in Cape Town. You will need a solid background in network administration and architecture, a passion for network management, and a commitment to exceptional service.

Responsibilities:

Support: Provide platform and infrastructure support.
Maintenance: Collaborate to ensure stability, availability, performance, and security.
Documentation: Maintain high standards.
Service Management: Adhere to ITIL-based practices.
Change Management: Plan and document changes, including patches and upgrades.
Configuration Data: Ensure accuracy.
Incident Management: Handle incidents and escalate as needed.
Risk Management: Manage issues and risks.

Skills and Experience:

Education: Degree in Computer Science or related field.
Communication: Excellent written and spoken skills.
Customer Service: Positive and supportive attitude.
Incident Management: Resolve incidents efficiently.
Teamwork: Work under pressure and support team members.
Technical Skills: Strong analytical fault-finding and network performance monitoring skills.
Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal abilities, including empathy and rapport-building.

Additional Responsibilities:

Network Performance: Monitor and maintain network integrity.
Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot cloud and local infrastructure issues.
Maintenance: Perform network maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.
Automation: Automate tasks and assess effectiveness.
Security: Oversee security measures.
Technical Support: Support team members with technical issues.
Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation.
Network Improvements: Suggest performance, capacity, and scalability improvements.

Requirements:

Technical Expertise: Proficient in Azure Networking (NSG/VNETs/VPNs).
Experience: Senior Network Engineer or Network Administrator.
Certifications: Professional certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCDP).
Network Administration: Solid background.
Protocols: Understanding of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF.
Security: Knowledge of access control and network security.
Hardware: Experience with Cisco, Juniper, and Fortigate devices.
Diagnostic Tools: Familiar with network diagnostic tools (OMS / N-able).
