An international IT managed services company in Cape Town, is seeking a talented individual to join their dynamic team as a 2nd Line Support Engineer. As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to support their clients remotely and onsite, providing technical support, troubleshooting, maintenance, and project work.
Responsibilities:
- Provide support via email, phone, and remote support to our clients.
- Visit customer sites/offices in South Africa to troubleshoot, configure, and implement various IT solutions and services.
- Troubleshoot and fix various IT hardware related issues, including liaising with 3rd party vendors through to resolution.
- Work directly with senior engineers to resolve complex issues and assist in project rollouts.
- Be proactive in improving customer IT systems and finding smarter ways to deliver excellent service.
- Maintain documentation for all systems (hardware and software).
Requirements:
- Minimum 3-4 years of experience in a similar role.
- Experience with Microsoft Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10, 11 and Microsoft Server 2008, 2012, 2012R2, 2016.
- Knowledge of Cloud Platforms (M365 Suite, Azure, AWS & Google Cloud).
- Strong understanding of Network Technology VLAN, VPN’s, Firewalls, Cyber Security, and IP routing protocols.
- Experience with Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP, and DNS.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and a willingness to find solutions through to resolution.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize workloads effectively.
- Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
Desirable Certifications/Experience:
- Microsoft 365, HP, Fortigate, SonicWall, Dell Certifications/Experience.
- Mac OS, Autotask PSA and RMM, Microsoft SharePoint Configuration.
- Project Management experience and/or certifications.
- Presales experience preferred but not essential.

- Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
- Ability to work from home with occasional in-person meetings.
