An established Cape Town organisation is looking for a Cybersecurity & Risk Specialist with 3–5 years’ experience to coordinate its day-to-day information security, risk and compliance. This mid-level role offers real scope to grow alongside a developing security function.
What You’ll Do
- Identify and assess IT and security risks, and keep the risk register and action plans up to date
- Help implement and review security policies and controls
- Support POPIA compliance, security audits and the follow-up of findings
- Assist with Microsoft 365 security, including MFA and Conditional Access
- Monitor alerts and vulnerabilities, and support incident response and remediation
- Review the security of new technologies, cloud services and suppliers
- Run staff security awareness and phishing campaigns
- Support business continuity and disaster recovery testing
- Report on security risks and progress
What You’ll Need
- A diploma or degree in IT, Information Security, Computer Science or similar
- 3–5 years’ experience in information security, IT risk, governance or compliance
- A solid understanding of risk management and POPIA
- Microsoft 365 security experience and exposure to ISO 27001, NIST or CIS frameworks will be an advantage

You’re organised, reliable and discreet, you take ownership of your work, and you can explain security matters clearly to both technical and non-technical colleagues.
