Are you experienced in client operations within asset management and ready to take on a new challenge? We’re looking for a skilled Client Operations Specialist to join a team based in Cape Town.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is detail-oriented, and has a solid understanding of pooled and segregated funds (including the differences and their significance). Previous experience with client onboarding and asset take-on processes is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client Administration:
    Manage client onboarding, account setup, and updates. Ensure accurate and organised maintenance of client information and documentation.
  • Operational Coordination:
    Oversee cash flows, reconciliations, and the processing of client transactions, including investments, disinvestments, and transfers. Work closely with custodians and internal teams to maintain service standards and ensure smooth operations.
  • Asset Transitions:
    Coordinate end-to-end asset transition processes, including data reconciliation and client communication, ensuring accuracy and efficiency throughout.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    Liaise with custodians, trustees, and internal teams to maintain strong working relationships and resolve operational queries effectively.
  • Process Improvement:
    Contribute to key operational projects and identify opportunities for enhancing processes and service delivery.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience:
    At least 5 years in client operations, portfolio administration, or a related role within asset management.
    Strong understanding of pooled and segregated funds, as well as experience with onboarding and transitions.
  • Technical Skills:
    Proficiency in Excel and portfolio systems like Hi-Port (or similar).
    Solid knowledge of financial instruments and asset management operations.
  • Education:
    BCom, BCom Honours, or a similar qualification in finance or a related field.
  • Attributes:
    Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and analytical skills.
    Strong communicator with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
    Results-driven and proactive in problem-solving.
