Are you an experienced Support Engineer looking for an exciting opportunity to showcase your technical prowess and contribute to complex projects? Look no further! Join a Managed Services Provider, with a strong presence in both the UK and Cape Town, is seeking a skilled 3rd Line Support Engineer to join our close-knit team.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Provide 1st to 3rd line support remotely and on-site for clients across multiple regions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues, including liaising with third-party vendors.
- Work closely with fellow engineers to tackle complex challenges and assist in project rollouts.
- Collaborate on technical presales, design, and project planning.
- Maximize system utilization and provide user training when needed.
- Contribute to maintenance, upgrades, and improvements of clients’ IT systems.
- Play an active role in project execution and delivery for clients.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows (7, 8, 8.1, 10, 11) and Server (2008, 2012, 2012R2, 2016, 2019).
- Strong knowledge of Cloud Platforms (Azure, Microsoft 365, AWS, Google Cloud).
- Experience with Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, Exchange, and SharePoint.
- Familiarity with network technologies, firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, and cyber security.
- Practical understanding of wireless network technologies (UniFi & Meraki).
- Expertise in IT hardware troubleshooting and resolution.
- Proficiency in backup technologies (Veeam, MSP360, Live Vault) and Virtualization (Hyper-V, Citrix).
- Scripting and automation skills (PowerShell).
- Strong problem-solving abilities and ability to work under pressure.
Desirable Certifications / Skills / Experience:
- Microsoft 365, HP, FortiGate, SonicWall, Dell certifications.
- Mac OS familiarity.
- Experience with Autotask PSA and RMM tools.
- Technical pre-sales and project management experience.
- Microsoft certifications and SharePoint configuration skills.
